Last week, friday 25th September, Maciek was talking about his homeland, Poland. Listeners could find something about Polish history, capital city Warsaw, Cracow and sightseeing in that city, Polish nature and many other information about that beautiful country. And in between as usual there were plenty of good music (especially from 90s but also some old Polish songs).
Saturday, September 19, 2009

Maciek, Robert, Manoj, Agapi, Vangelis and Justin will be on air with you tonight. Let's have some fun and enjoy the night. Call us at 087909869.

Last Friday Anna and Maciek were speaking about “ Consumer’s tips in Stockholm”.
And now we can divide with you again this information and provide some useful links, which would help you to arrange your life in Sweden spending less money.
Transport.
Air.
The closest aiport to Stockholm is Arlanda. There are two more airports which usually are called Stockholm’s airports also. They are Skavsta and Vasteras. They are far away from city and it takes you minimum 2,5 hours to come to centre after you flight. The ticket for this bus cost more than 200 sek to come from airport to T-Centralen station.
Ground.
Public transport is good developed and of a good quality, but not cheap.
There are different kinds of tickets which you can buy for using them in Metro, busses and suburb trains. Of course, if you are not going to use public transport every day you don’t need month’s card but it is actually the cheapest one you can buy. But them you can buy only in Central offices of SL. Look up more information on their official site www.sl.se. Here you will also find the schedule of all transport systems in capital and suburbs, and the shortest way to get from place A to place B.
The most expensive is single ticket by sms.
The cheapest is month’s card which costs about 700 sek. per month. But ! if you will show your Student Card ( which you will get by mail soon from your university) you will have a discount.
Place to live.
You are very lucky if you managed to get room in campus. It will save you time to get to Uni every day and money in payment. Average room in Campus costs about 15 000 per term. At the same time if you decide to rent out an apartment you should be prepared to pay from 5000 till 1000 sek per month. ( depends from the place where you gonna live and it’s area). You can also rent out a room or cooperate together with you classmate, as a lot of people do. Here is site which can help you to find a room or a flat: http://www.blocket.se/stockholm?q=&cg=3020&w=1&st=u&mre=&ros=&roe=&ss=0&se=8&ca=11&md=th
Also you can stay in line for a flat from government or a room from Campus. More info you can find here: http://www.bostad.stockholm.se/ ( information is provided on 9 languages)
Shopping.
Food.
There are a lot of different nets of food stores in Sweden.
Hemkop , ICA and Coop are Swedish one and the most expensive.
Lidl is German and one of the cheapest stores. But, of course, there are products from different producers and maybe not the same high quality like in Swedish nets.
Willy:s could be a good place for ‘smart’ shopping.
Clothes.
There are seasons of discounts in Sweden. You just need to be attentive and catch the moment. Discounts can go down till 70%.
But there is the place Outlet Stockholm, where discounts are all year round))) 55 different brands in one place for low prices – what could be better?
http://www.qualityoutlet.com/
Entertainment.
FILM.
To go to the cinema will cost you about 150 sek. Not bad, isn’t it? To buy dvd with a movie is also not so cheap if it is a new and popular one. There is an option to rent movies. Then you can get 4-5 movies for 100-120 sek for a week. It sounds better, or?
Clubs.
Want to go out and feel comfortable, not standing in line on the entrance? Then go to the Internet first and find on facebook community of you club and just put your on list.
But be ready that drinks will cost you a lot in the club. Alcohol is very expensive in Sweden. That is way cruises on boats are so popular here. When you go by boat to Finland, Poland or somewhere else you are in a tax-free zone.
Did you get the point?
If you have more questions just write a comment in blog.
We will be happy to answer.
Cheers, Anna N. Kazakova and the Crew.

Music - Live Rock (Plisken sound)
Host - Dj A-shot
A whole hour was devoted to finding out everything about the group called Plisken - what i believe, is the future of rock. Personally, being a fan, i asked a lot of questions, and try to get our listeners acquainted with each one of them, whilst the group performed live, and this was so great - i was astonished. First time on the radio, the group brought a lot of interesting sounds, info and jokes with them to introduce themselves. I will definitely try to get them in our show once more. Those who listened surely did not regret it. Those who missed the live hour can check the link below to hear them again.Personal thank you to all group members for participating, sharing with us and for being the Independent mainstream we like so much.
Visit their page and enjoy their music at

Topic - Earth Hour Music - House
Host - Dj A-shot
Date - 28 march 2009
This show talked about this Earth Hour event, that took place simultanously all over the world, and our radio participated also. We talked about why should we do it, who participates and also listened to some good music while saving the electricity and doing the show in darkness :)
Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.
In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote.
